Intelligent plant-treatment system
Intelligent plan-treatment system, a project developed by syde for Technovite,
Patented solutions – Patent Nr. 102021000008234 since 1.04.2021
The Intelligent plant-treatment-system, developed under the Value for Innovation co-financing program, was designed for vineyards but is generally applicable to the treatment of all plants. It enables the distribution of treatment substances with high energy efficiency while having a minimal dispersion into the environment, which has a positive impact on both the environment and resource optimization.
Energy Inefficiency and excessive material consumption are part of old treatment systems for treating plants
Old plant treatment systems present two fundamental issues that lead to negative consequences for the environment and the company:
- One Problem is ecological and causes serious effects on health. Responsible is the dispersion of treatment in the air and on the grounds which causes both problematic results for pollution and for the well being of the operators.
- The second problem is efficiency. The use of ressources is excessive compared to what is needed for treatment.
In other words, old treatment systems are wasting ressources. With negative consequences for company, planet and people.
Various old plant treatments systems attempt to solve these problems with a system of forced recovery of excess material, e.g., by sucking up the dispersed treatment material to be redirected or with holding tanks.
Another more sophisticated solution was to combine two seperate steps. The first being, wetting and moving branches and leaves in order to expose the grapes to the tratment process. This solution is more common among the older types of treatment systems. But they all have significant energy inefficencies and an excessive consumption of treatment material, caused by the use of turbulent airflow as a carrier of the sprayed particles.
The new intelligent plant-treatment system.
The new intelligent system for the treatment of plants, especially vines, is characterised by high energy efficiency and the elimination of product drift effects, i.e., the dispersion of the substances used for treatment into the air and soil, resulting in a saving of treatment material in addition to an reduced impact on the environment.
With this new intelligent plant-treatment system, only the bare minimum of material is required, resulting in an optimal use of resources and a decreased impact on the environment.
